The SIPED4D+ Electronic Pedal is a system capable of safely detecting the transit and direction of rolling stock. It ensures the detection of axles with metal wheels compliant with UIC 790R at speeds of up to 350 km/h.

It provides two types of output interfaces:
1. Digital interface: provides a data interface over copper or fibre optic in accordance with the communication protocols [RFI 6]/[RFI 7]
2. DC interface: generated internally (0/+48 Vdc or -48 V/CCN/+48 V) or via relay contacts (0/+48 Vdc or -48 V/CCP/+48 V)

The SIPED4D+ system consists of two parts:
1. WD sensor, installed on the rail, which detects the passage of the wheel flange of rolling stock in both directions.
2. ELIS4D+ control electronics, installed trackside, designed to:
– control the WD sensor and verify its correct operation
– acquire signals from the WD sensor and determine the conditions of the axle and rolling stock in transit
– generate the internal power supplies required by the system from the external 150 Vac supply voltage
– transmit the processed conditions to the User in the sentry box via the implemented interface:
data interface over copper or fibre optic connection
direct current interface, configurable as voltage output or relay contact output
