The main function of the Voltmeter Detector is to measure the VT voltage of the CL contact line of the ET electric traction system and to control an integrated relay based on the measured value and a configurable threshold. It also features a current output IOUT representing the analogue value of the voltage measured on the CL.

The RV consists of two devices, TX and RX, which communicate via a fibre optic channel to ensure galvanic separation between the CL connected to the TX and the cabin where the RX is installed.
The TX, powered directly by the CL, continuously measures the CL voltage and digitally transmits the measured value to the RX via fibre optic cable.

  • CL measurement range: 0 to 6 kVdc
  • Power supply: from CL voltage (minimum 1.2 kVdc)
  • Atmospheric impulse withstand: 140 kV
  • Operating temperature: -20 °C to +55 °C
  • IP protection rating: 65
  • Measurement rate: 1 measurement every 250 μs
  • Serial output: fibre optic with ST connector
